Surfing Australia

A mix of celebrities, sporting identities, pro surfers and local surfing hotshots will attempt to brighten the lives of seriously ill children this summer when they don rash vests in the Coastalwatch Surf for Life.

The fun, exhibition-like surf charity events are dedicated to raising awareness of the Starlight Children's foundation, which delivers innovative programs designed to make children happy and lift their spirits when they need it most.

To be run by Surfing Australia and its State branches, the Surf for Life program is also designed to increase the profile of surfing at all age groups as a whole.

The series is comprised of five one-day, semi-serious and fun surf events that take place at Maroubra (NSW), Trigg Point (WA), Torquay (VIC), Victor Harbour (SA) and Snapper Rocks (QLD). The competition will take the form of a team event. Each team will be composed of a celebrity, a sporting identity and a surfer.
