Queensland Masters / Women's Surfing Series - Event 2
Under 18 girls, Under 16 girls, Open women, Over 35 women, Under 21 girls, Over 35 men, Over 40 men, Over 45 men, Over 50 men, Over 55 men
In a bid to provide the state’s Male Masters and Female competitors with additional competitive opportunities in 2012, Surfing Queensland is bolstering the Queensland Masters Surfing Championship and Girls Surf Slam Queensland Championship to a combined two-event series.
The two-event series will crown Queensland Masters State Champions across the O/35, O/40, O/45, O/50 and O/55 Men’s divisions as well as female competitors across the Open Women’s and O/35 divisions.
The series will also be the exclusive qualification pathway for competitors aiming for selection into the Queensland Surfing Team set to compete at the Australian Open Surfmasters Titles.
Queensland’s Open Women’s champion will still receive a coveted spot in the trials of the 2013 ASP World Tour Roxy Pro event at Snapper Rocks.
As per the 2012 Surfing Australia Rule Book, allocations for the 2012 Australian Open Surf Masters Titles are as follows:
Open Women – Two + Wildcard
O/35 Women – Two
O/35 Men – Four
O/40 Men – Four
O/45 Men – Four
O/50 Men – Four
O/55 Men – Two
Competitors may surf TWO divisions at the Queensland and subsequent National Titles.
Overall series winners will be based on competitors’ best two-of-two results.
2012 ratings points breakdown is available below:
“Under Age” Divisions – Competitors must be under the specified age as of the 31st December in the year of competition.
“Over Age” Divisions – Competitors must be of age as of 1st January in the year of competition.
