Green Room Conference

Surfing Australia's Green Roon Conference is conducted as a benchmark professional development opportunity for the surf community is timed annually to coincide with the lead up to the Quiksilver Pro at Snapper Rocks.

The conference aims to bring together many of surfing's wisest and most experienced minds in a program designed to enhance the knowledge of coaches, athletes, team managers and surfing enthusiasts.

In 2011, Wayne ‘Rabbit' Bartholomew, as he did in 2010 was MC for the conference as well as delivering the opening and closing address. Other high profile presenters on the day included; 4 x AFL Premiership Coach, Leigh Matthews, 7 x ASP Women's World Champion and Surfing Icon, Layne Beachley, Master Surfboard Shaper, Darren Handley, and Surfing Australia's very own National Coaching Director, Martin Dunn.

The conference is fast becoming a flagship event for Surfing Australia, demonstrating the huge strides the organisation and the sport as a whole has taken over the past few years. Seven times ASP Women's World Champion, Layne Beachley was a key presenter at the 2011 Green Room Conference demonstrating her support for Surfing Australia's ever expanding initiatives to the development of professional surfing in this country.

Due to the success and positive feedback that has followed the event, the Green Room Conference has cemented itself as a permanent fixture on Surfing Australia's ever expanding calendar of events.
