Hard Charger Mitch Rawlins To Host The Inaugural Surfing Australia Pro Bodyboarder Camp

Friday, 18 May 2012

Bodyboarders from around the country will gather for the chance to learn from one of their sport’s most influential riders, Mitch Rawlins at the inaugural Surfing Australia Pro Bodyboard Camp.

Rawlins will be hosting the first ever pro bodyboard camp at the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC) at Casuarina in northern NSW from July 1-3 and will be working with some of Australia’s premier bodyboard coaches to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime camp for 14 lucky participants.

The camp will feature three days of coaching, surfing and hanging out with Mitch Rawlins and will give camp participants an idea of exactly what it takes to be a professional bodyboarder.

The camp will also include a factory tour at Rawlins’ Gold Coast based company Found Boards for a unique look at the technology that goes into board manufacturing.

Funded by the Federal Government, the new $2 million HPC will be officially opened on June 15.

Designed in consultation with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), the HPC will boast state of the art education facilities, equipment and accommodation and will be at the forefront of sports science and coaching development.

Details of the camp can be found here – http://www.surfingaustralia.com/hpc-course.php?id=345 or phone (02)66749868
