WAHU CONTINUES WITH SURFER GROMS COMPS AND SURFING AUSTRALIA

Iconic beach brand Wahu is the latest sponsor to extend its partnership with Surfing Australia.  

Wahu has signed on as naming rights sponsor to the Wahu Surfer Groms Comps for a further year.

It is the only national competition series to fully cater for the ‘micro groms’ and has been confirmed as eight events across QLD, NSW, VIC and WA with the introduction of a Coffs Harbour based event.

In a major coup, the respective winners of the Under 13 boy’s and girl’s division from each event will receive an invite to attend the exclusive, all expenses paid three-day Wahu Surf Camp at the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre.

Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark said the partnership reinforced Wahu’s support of grassroots surfing in Australia.

“This is a fantastic national junior event series that acts as a natural pathway from VEGEMITE SurfGroms that Wahu also supports.

“The Wahu Surfer Groms Comps will see more than 700 junior surfers compete across the eight event national series over summer, with plenty of beach games and fun activities also incorporated into the series. The Wahu Surf Camp participants will also have the opportunity to take their surfing to the next level with access to the world's best coaches and state of the art facilities.

“We thank Wahu for their valued support of both programs and junior surfing in Australia.”

A combined Under 7’s parent assist division has also been added to the series’ roster, and further strengthens the company’s support of junior surfing in the country.

The Surfer Groms Comps are all about providing a fun, but competitive environment, with loads of prizes, giveaways and cool beach games.

Event participants will receive a Wahu Surfer Groms Comp t-shirt and a Wahu beach product for entering each event.  

Divisions include: U/15 Boys and U/15 Girls, U/13 Boys and U/13 Girls, U/11 Boys and U/11 Girls, U/9 Boys and U/9 Girls (Parent assist) and U/7 Boys and Girls mixed division (Parent assist).
