Introduction To Yorkes Camp 2012
2012 Introduction to Yorkes Camp
Sunday, 1 April 2012
Back by popular demand is the 'Introduction to Yorkes' Camp. Current state champions have used this camp as a building block for their competition careers and highly recommend the experience. Feedback last year was extremely positive & junior surfers rated it as one of the most enjoyable experiences in their surfing life.
Yorke Peninsula is a classic surfing area & a great surfing experience. Surfing SA is offering a camp to any 18 & under surfer who would like to be guided & introduced to all the surf breaks in the area. Surfers have to be of a novice to intermediate level with their own equipment. Surfing SA Coaches including State Coaching Director Cheryl Peat, will be supported by Brian ‘Squizzy’ Taylor (local surfer & past Australian Team Member) to provide you with the best information to get to know the area.
Pick up will be arranged for Friday 11th May depending on where people live, around 5pm & drop off 8pm on Sunday 13th May (this information will be emailed out to you closer to the date). We will be travelling in a mini bus with trailer for the bags & boards this has been provided by Willunga Charters. Accommodation will be at the Innes National Park Heritage Lodges so participants can experience what it was like living in the 1920’s as well. All coaches have had National police checks.
The camp will include:
Ø Information about local breaks
Ø Visits to local landmarks in the area (we are staying at one)
Ø Surf sessions at the most suitable breaks for the groups standard
Ø Video analysis (disk will be made to keep)
Ø Technical surfing skills
Ø All meals (except Friday & Sunday nights)
