Presentation Makeup: Video

If surfers have a slow standing action or pop-up, the first step in fixing it is to ascertain what they actually do. This action can then be compared to a fast action, making it easier to change faulty technique by comparing the two.

    I can’t view the video.

  2. Geoff says:

I can’t get a soundtrack on the vid.

love to hear what it has to say

  3. Geoff says:

    My fault – sound gremlins.

But great tip about breaking the ledge. I have a slow popping action that seems to be getting slower as I get older. Of late, I have been trying compensate by getting to my feet too soon and I often get caught in the lip. I think breaking the ledge also gives the added advantage of having the board drop out from beneath your feet so you don’t have to scrunch as much to get your legs through your arms.

    great site

    cheers

An important tip Martin. A phrase I use is “push and jump” which gives the pop up action. I’ve had to get away from the “grab and climb” action which is slow and is exposed in sucky wave take offs.
    Cheers John
