This video displays a technique surfers can use to stall for, and successfully exit forehand tubes. By using this technique, surfers not only stall successfully but also stay tight on the wave’s face, making it easier to fit into the tube.

    Hi Martin,
I’d love you to talk about some of the timing basic regarding take offs. Even after quite a bit of surfing I still feel like i’m hit and miss with my take offs. Peak position, timing, breaking the ledge and my body motion sequence are still a mystery when the waves become hollow and pitching. Some times I snap up and manage to take the drop but more often than not fail to make difficult takeoffs.
    Can you help???
    Cheers, Rob.
