Bruny Island Classic enters it 12th year

The Bruny Island surf classic enters it twelfth year in 2010, a true cornerstone of the Surfing Tasmania circuit which hosts rounds on each tassies’ coasts for competitors to qualify for the Australian Surfing Festival in August.. The event is mobile over the island but with predicted 2 to 3.5  metre seas and northerly winds competition is expected to be held at Cloudy Bay.

Bruny Island recently was the venue for the Red Herring Surf Junior, this weekend has the best open surfers and divisions through to Over 50s' hitting the water. Competition is expected to get underway around 8am on both Saturday and Sunday.

Open surfers will not only competing for the coveted title but for wildcards spots in the $145,000 O’Neill Coldwater Classic, World Qualifying event in late March held in the Marrawah region.
