Rip Curl East Coast Junior turn fifteen

This weekends East Coast Rip Curl Junior , has drawn a large field from statewide, the event concludes the four event Junior Series i, with events held in Hobart, Bruny Island and Marrawah.

 

"The strength of the event, can be judged by the fact its entering its 15th year , but also the quality field of the state best Under 18,16 and 14 male and female surfers. We are stoked to have Rip Curl continuing its long association with junior surfing in Tasmania. " Nigel Wallace Contest Director.

With the final event of the circuit the 16 boys is cut throat with the East Coast's Tom Gray and Gerome Bramich vying for the state title, whoever finishes higher will take out the 16's title.

The 18 boys Hamish Renwick has already taken out the title but will be looking for an undefeated season, with like of Kyle Cooper and Tom Gray vying for runner up .

The Girls division will see the likes of Sophie Burke and Lizze Stokely loking for wins.

The event will also host the 2nd round of the state longboard division, with spots on the State team up for grabs.

The event kicks off with a competitors meeting 7.45am at the Scamander shop
