Since 1998 the Victorian Government have proactively promoted water safety at the beach, inland water ways, pool and home through the Play it Safe by the Water campaign. The campaign works in partnership with key stakeholders to promote the importance of water safety
Be the Influence - Tackling Binge Drinking
The Be the Influence - Tackling Binge Drinking initiative is a Federal Government campaign addressing youth binge drinking and the influence of alcohol promotion on young Australians by promoting anti-binge drinking messaging through sport sponsorships. Information on Be the Influence - Tackling Binge Drinking can be found at www.tacklingbingedrinking.gov.au. The Be the Influence - Tackling Binge Drinking sponsorship is managed through the Australian National Preventive Health Agency.
The Wingman
The Wingman is the Victorian Government's latest initiative to curb alcohol fuelled violence. The campaign is anchored in personal choice and advocates that young men need to take responsibility for their mates.
The key objective of the campaign is to encourage behaviour change in young men aged 18-25 in order to reduce alcohol fuelled violence in our streets and entertainment venues.
Wingman is excited to partner with Surfing Victoria to communicate the message that everyone needs a wingman to help them take pre-emptive steps to avoid violence.
So... next time you are out drinking, think about how you and your friends can avoid trouble, because real champions look out for their mates.

The Victorian Major Events Company (VMEC) was formed in 1991, as part of a Victorian Government initiative to attract international cultural and sporting events that require global state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure.As well as putting Melbourne and Victoria on the world stage, these events help to raise Victoria's international profile and have a positive financial impact on the state. VMEC, SRV and Surfing Victoria work in partnership to deliver the Rip Curl Pro, the world’s most iconic surfing event, to our state.

Metricon are a proud supporter of the Surf With The Boys Tour, a skill development program that travels to 11 locations across Victoria.
