Byron Bay Surf Festival's Freestyle & Stoke Sessions Set For Sunday Feb 24th

Slide, trim, sit, clap, surf, kneel and handstand. Get down to Wategos Beach,
Sunday 24 February for Byron Surf Festival’s Freestyle & Stoke Sessions (8am-
3pm). A salty day at the beach featuring some of surfing’s best, most eccentric
sliders, innovative wave-riding categories and, for the annual McTavish Trim!
Eyeball some of the world’s best surfers as they perform with style, power, grace
and skill. Surfers will ride on all types of craft including Longboards, Foamies,
Wooden Boards and 10ft+ Trimmers. Contests range from partner surfing to the
all-inclusive BBSF Party Wave.

Founded in 2010, the annual Byron Bay Surf Festival is a non-competitive event with a
focus on surf culture, highlighting creativity, innovation, environment and sustainability.
The 5-day event is a fusion of 'Surf Culture Now'. With over 10 free and ticketed
events, become immersed in surf sessions, surf shaping, design, art, music, film, fashion
and yoga, while having fun and caring for the environment.  The Byron Bay Surf Festival
is proudly an “Ocean Friendly” event aiming to set a clear path towards reducing
environmental and community impacts of surfing contests. Sustainability is at the heart
