Twenty World Surf League Stars Set To Pull The Jersey On At Vissla Sydney Surf Pro

MANLY BEACH, SYDNEY (Thursday, 14 March 2019): The world’s best surfers will descend on Manly Beach from Monday 18th, March 2019 for the second Vissla Sydney Surf Pro.
The Vissla Sydney Surf Pro and Sydney Surf Pro pres. by Sisstrevolution World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 6000 rated events will run from the 18th March – 24th March, 2019 at Manly Beach.
Currently, 10 male WSL Championship Tour competitors are slated to compete, while 10 female WSL Championship Tour competitors are entered.
Eleven-time World Champion Kelly Slater (USA) will get his opportunity to throw on a competitive jersey for the first time in 2019 when he hits the water in his seeded round two heat.
“I’m looking forward to heading down to Manly and getting my feet back in the wax competing again,” said Slater. “I’m excited to get to Sydney and compete. It’s been a long time since I competed in Sydney, so thanks for inviting me and having me.”
Other male CT surfers entered into the Vissla Sydney Surf Pro include: Jadson Andre (Brazil), Soli Bailey (Byron Bay, NSW), Joan Duru (France), Michael Rodrigues (Brazil), Deivid Silva (Brazil), Jesse Mendes (Brazil), Ricardo Christie (NZL), Seth Moniz (HAW) and Leonardo Fioravanti (Italy).
Other CT tour surfers entered into the Sydney Surf Pro pres. by Sisstrevolution include: Macy Callaghan (Central Coast, AUS), Joanne Defay (France), Paige Hareb (NZL), Brisa Hennessey (CRI), Coco Ho (HAW), Malia Manuel (HAW), Bronte Macaulay (Margaret River, WA), Caroline Marks (USA), Nikki Van Dijk (Phillip Island, Vic) and Tatjana Weston-Webb (Brazil).
The Vissla Sydney Surf Pro is a collaboration between World Surf League and Surfing NSW to run Sydney’s largest surfing event at the iconic Manly Beach.
