In 2017 there will again only be 1 round of NSW Bodyboard State Titles. The NSW HIF Bodyboard State Titles will again be staging in the wave rich location of Kiama.  This will be a 3 day event held in Kiama 4-6th May. Kiama Surf Beach known as "The Wedge" will be the prime location for the event. 

The results of the event will determine the NSW Bodyboard Team for the 2017 Australian Bodyboard Titles.

As per last year, the ABA  - SWS Mystics Pro 2017 will be running in conjunction with the HIF NSW Bodyboard State Titles 2017.  This event will be held at Mystics beach and heats will commence from the 6th - 7th May. This event is included within the HIF NSW Bodyboard State Titles Running schedule, it ensures no over laps in divisions, so if one wishes to compete in both state titles and the ABA Mystics Pro event they can do so. Please visit the ABA website for more infomation on their event & entry HERE

HIF NSW Bodyboard State Titles 2017 - Event and Entry Information:

Entry Opening: 1st March 2017.

Entry Process (Package Option Entries):

All competitors need to be a current Surfing NSW Member: to join or renew please do so HERE 

Please note: registering this year is slightly different - see below.


  • Payment A: Single Entry Fee  = $88

Please select "Payment A: Single Entry Fee" to compete in 1 division. You will then need to choose which division you will enter as another option which will be appear at $0.00.


  • Payment B: Double division Entry Fees = $138

If you wish to compete in 2 divisions- this is avaliable at a discounted fee.

Please select "Payment B: Double division Entry Fee" to compete in 2 divisions. You will then need to choose which divisions you will enter as other options which will be appear at $0.00.

NB: If there is pressure on numbers, people in two divisions will be requested to choose their preferred division and be refunded for the second.

If your division is full please email Surfing NSW - We can put you on the reserve list or expand draws if possible.


Age clarification

  • Open Division (no age limit).
  • Over Age Division - (Competitors must be of age as of the 1st January 2017) - eg. Over 35 Division competitor must be aged 35 years old or over as at 1st January 2017.
  • Under age divisions, (you must be under the specified age as at 31/12/17 - ie. To enter Under 18, you must be 17 years or under on 31st December 2017).


Location, Schedule & Heat Draws

The main location will be Kiama Surf beach located in the heart of kiama back up locations are Jones Beach, Bombo Beach and Werri Beach.

The competition will commence at 7:30am each day. The location, start time & running schedule will be confirmed daily after 6:45am by calling the event hotline number - 0458 247 212.

The running schedule and heat draws will be downloadable on this page on Tuesday 2nd May at 5pm.

  • Thursday 4th - Open Men, Junior Men (U18), Cadet Boys (U16),

Surfing NSW are pleased to announce that the winner of the Open Men division will recieve a wildcard into the Pro Mens division of an ABA event.

Australian Surf Festival ( Australian Bodyboard Titles 2017) Information

New 2017 Location: Tweed Heads

Dates: 10-14th August 2017

NSW Allocations:

Open Women - 1     U16 Cadet Open - 4       Masters Men O35 -     3    Drop Knee Open Men      - 5


Competitors who have qualified for the Australian Surf Festival will be contacted via email and invited to register for Aussie Titles via an online event page. 

If one who has not qualified registers for this event (unfortunately this does happen) they will be charged a $10 admin fee.

It is important that all competitor details are current in order to disseminate important competitor information. If you need to update your personal details e.g. Phone number/email address/ home address please do so under “Edit” on your profile on the website.


All registrations online. There will be a window whereby registration will end. From this point the next in line for qualification will be contacted (these people are placed automatically on the reserve list). 

Rules around reserves & qualification: If for any reason a qualifier cannot attend the offer will be extended to the next reserve. Reserves are in order of place and highest point score total.

Extra allocations may be granted closer to the event for divisions under the discretion of Surfing Australia. Any extra allocations will be communicated to the state bodies and subsequently to the next reserves in line. NB: There are no guarantees on how many extra allocations each state will get. If you are contacted you are invited to enter.

Age Eligibility: 

Under Age - you cannot turn the nominated age this year - ie. Under 14 - you cannot turn 14 this year, you must be 13 years or under on 31/12/2017.

Over Age  - you must be the nominated age as at 1/1/2016. ie. Over 35 - you must have been 35 on 1/1/2017.
