The Ocean and Earth Southern Cross SUP Festival will once again call Shoalhaven home when the three-day stand-up paddleboard festival kicks off at the end of April.
The three-day event will take place around Sussex Inlet from Friday, 28th April to Sunday, 30th.
Over 120 of NSW’s best SUP riders will participate in the competition, which will incorporate racing and surfing in a variety of different conditions.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley looks forward to the SUP titles as it visits the Shoalhaven region.

“Shoalhaven City Council is excited to support the Ocean and Earth Southern Cross SUP Festival titles for the third time. Our area is a fantastic location for the competition and within our community, we have a large SUP population.  We wish all the competitors and the visitors to the area for this event much success. Enjoy the hospitality and beautiful waterways that the Shoalhaven has to offer.”
Surfing NSW CEO Luke Madden echoed similar sentiments.

“Over the last two years we’ve seen some great conditions for the best SUP riders in NSW. The Shoalhaven region is the perfect backdrop for the discipline as it includes the ideal locations for both surfing and paddling. We wish all competitors the best and can’t wait to see the event kick off in April.”
Events in the racing event include an 8 - 10-kilometre elite marathon and an eight-kilometre sprint race.
The prime location for the surfing component of the Ocean and Earth Southern Cross SUP Festival is Sussex Inlet with backup locations of Narrawallee and Mollymook.
The surfing component is set to take place on the Friday and Saturday while the racing components will take place on the Saturday and Sunday.
The event acts as the NSW State Stand-Up Paddleboard Titles across surfing and racing with the results of the event determining the NSW SUP Team for the 2017 Toyota Australian SUP Titles which will be held in Currumbin later in the year.
The daily running schedule and contest location will be confirmed on the event hotline (0458 247 212) after 6:45am each day of the event.
