This is the first event of the 2018 Queensland State Junior Surfing Titles for the Under 18 and Under 16 Divisions.
The Queensland State Junior Surfing Titles is the exclusive qualification pathway for the State's elite junior competitors aiming for selection in Queensland's State Junior Surfing Team, set to compete at the Australian Junior Surfing Titles later in the year.
The series is a key stepping stone in Surfing Queensland's development pathway, with the likes of Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson and Bede Durbidge just a few of the high profile athletes who have previously competed in the junior State surfing series.
In 2018, Surfing Queensland is excited to announce that two wildcards into the World Surf League(WSL) World Tour's 2019 Quiksilver and Roxy Pro's trials will be up for grabs. Queensland's Under 18 Male and Female State Champions will each receive a wildcard to surf in the trials event and potentially compete against the world's elite at the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro's.
Overall series winners will be based on competitors' best two-of-two results therefore it is highly recommended to compete in both Event 1 and Event 2.
This is a mobile Event with the location being dependent on the conditions on the day of the Event. The Sunshine Coast Event Permit covers from Noosa Heads down to Kings Beach.
