Series finale of the 2018 Inverted QLD Bodyboarding Titles presented by Pride Bodyboards hits the Gold Coast this weekend

Now that the dust has settled from Event 1 on the Sunshine Coast in February, all eyes will be on the series finale of the 2018 Inverted Queensland Bodyboarding Titles presented by Pride Bodyboards set to run on the Gold Coast this weekend.

With competitors best two of two results being accumulated to decide overall Queensland Champions and state team allocations for 2018, Event 1 place getters will be looking to build on their ratings points this weekend for their final opportunity at an overall placing.

This weekend’s draw will see the best local bodyboarders line up to battle it out with those travelling south from the Sunshine Coast. Representing the Sunshine Coast contingent will be Event 1 Open Men’s winner and veteran bodyboarder Adam Keegan (Yaroomba, QLD). Keegan’s performance in the final on the Sunshine Coast earlier this year was dominant however he will again face a new generation of young guns including reigning Under 18 Boy’s Champion Alex Boggis (Peregian Springs, QLD). Both surfers will be eager to put a result on the board this weekend to secure their place in the Queensland team set to compete at the 2018 National Bodyboarding Titles as part of the Australian Surf Festival in July.

In the Open Women’s division, Britt Ladley (Mermaid Waters, QLD) will lead the charge representing the Gold Coast region. Ladley already has numerous Australian Titles under her belt and will have her sights set on locking in another Queensland Title and booking a spot at nationals. With a win at Event 1 up her sleeve her job is half done.

The Queensland Bodyboard Titles are the state’s premier bodyboarding event series and provide the exclusive pathway for athletes vying for a spot in the 2018 Queensland Bodyboarding team set to compete at the National Bodyboarding Titles as part of the Australia Surf Festival later this year.

This weekend’s event will see athletes compete across a total of eight individual divisions ranging from the youngest Grommet Under 14’s through to the Blue Ribbon Open Men. Overall State Champions will be crowned this weekend and state team allocations will be made.
