About State

Surfing is an iconic year round sport, recreation, and lifestyle, which is pursued by thousands of South Australians and has enormous growth potential.

Surfing South Australia is the not for profit incorporated State Association formed in 1963 as the peak body for the sport of surfing in South Australia, primarily to promote and develop the sport of surfing.

Vision

Our vision is to create a vibrant membership based, sustainable organisation that develops and delivers services to the community to foster participation, enjoyment and positive recreational experiences, through surfboard riding.

Mission

Surfing South Australia, as the state peak body, will provide quality services to its Shortboard, Longboard, Kneeboard, Bodyboard and Stand Up Paddleboard membership, maximise entry-level opportunities and foster ongoing participation in surf riding, develop surf riding leaders, officials, infrastructure, clubs and volunteers, and coordinate the delivery of surf riding services to all levels of our community.
