HENDRIKS AND GABY SHARE HONOURS AT SCAMANDER ECC.

HENDRIKS WINS QUIKSILVER/ROXY EAST COAST CLASSIC AND GABY TAKES AIRASIA WAVE OF THE DAY.
Ulverstone's Adam Hendriks came through with his maiden Open victory in the Quiksilver/Roxy East Coast Classic at Scamander over the weekend winning both the Mens Open and O40/50 Divisions. The Scamander rivermouth was the event location on both days providing a range of 1 to 1.5 metre competitive left and right hand peaks across tides and variable winds. Saturday's wild winds stripped the beach early in the afternoon so events went on hold and resumed Sunday morning following NEBR's function at the Surfside Hotel/Motel Saturday evening.
AirAsia Wave of the Day was won by Matt Gaby for powerhouse surfing in the heat that was disrupted by the wind storm on Saturday. Due to misplaced paperwork Adam Hendriks was awarded the title at the Presentations on Sunday. This error has been rectified and Matt now goes into the national draw for a holiday to a global surf spot with AirAsia and 9 friends. STAS apologis3es to Adam and Matt.
Many thanks to Event Director Justin Emmerton, Head Judge Tank Grey, Priority Judge Micheal Schmidt, NEBR volunteers, sponsors, Quiksilver/Roxy, Red Herring Surf, Air Asia, Feel Good Inc.,Moo Brew, East Coast Surf, Skyline nk Tatoo, Swims Cafe and Surfside Hotel/Motel.
