Excellent surf forecasted for Round 2 of the Victorian Open Series on Phillip Island

Cape Woolamai, VIC/AUS (Thursday 1st March 2018): Round Two of the Victorian Open Series presented by HIF Australia will head to Phillip Island this weekend with the expectation of excellent surf on Saturday.

The premier Open surfing series in the state brings together the best surfers in some of the best waves in Victoria, culminating at Bells Beach in September.

This weekend will see surfers such as reigning Open Champion Todd Rosewall (Jan Juc), WSL Qualifiying Series surfer and local hope Joe van Dijk (Smiths Beach), along with former Open champions Zoe Clarke (Jan Juc), Bella Wilson (Jan Juc) and Sophie Fletcher (Cape Woolamai).

Currently leading the ratings after a strong showing on the Mornington Peninsula is 2017 Champion Todd Rosewall. Rosewall has proven himself in solid surf over many years and will be a favorite with the pending forecast.

The same can be said for local surfer Sophie Fletcher, who has grown up surfing the banks at Cape Woolamai and will be one to watch on the weekend.

Official forecaster Coastalwatch Plus are calling for great waves all day on Saturday with 1.5m swell and light offshore breezes.

A call will be made on Saturday at 7:15am for a 7:30am start at Cape Woolamai.
