Final round of Victorian Open Series at Bells Beach postponed due to small surf forecast

Bells Beach, VIC/AUS (Thursday, 31st August 2017): The final round of the Victorian Open Series presented by HIF has been postponed due to a lack of swell forecasted for the weekend.

Official swell forecaster Coastalwatch is calling for less than a foot of swell on the surf coast with strong offshore winds.

"We don't take these decisions lightly, however with the swell forecast looking like it is we have no choice but to postpone this weekend" said Surfing Victoria CEO, Adam Robertson.

"With two state titles on the line and the ultra-competitive Teams Titles, we want to make sure that we are running in contestable conditions and allow for enough opportunity for all competitors. Unfortunately this weekend won't provide that opportunity."

The re-scheduled date has been set for October 7th & 8th at Jan Juc.

Full heat draw and schedule will be released closer to the date. Competitors who are unable to attend the re-scheduled date can call the Surfing Victoria office to organise a refund.
