HIF Victorian Longboard Titles set for explosive finale at Point Impossible
Point Impossible, VIC/AUS (Wednesday 16th May, 2018): The HIF Victorian Longboard Titles presented by City to Surf Mobile Café is set for a massive finale this weekend with the top longboarders from throughout the state set to converge on Point Impossible in an attempt to be crowned state champion in their division.
The event will see over 60 competitors involved in the final round, showcasing the incredible depth of talent within the Victorian Longboard community.
Divisions across the weekend will include Under 18 through to Over 70s with divisions for the traditional Logger riders from Under 18 to Over 40.
“It’s great to see such a strong showing from the longboard community and with so many Australian champions in the mix the level of surfing will be incredible to watch,” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.
“Good luck to all of our longboard competitors this weekend.”
Former Australian Champions to compete this weekend include Emma Webb (Jan Juc), Molly Powell (Anglesea), Greg Brown (Jan Juc), Bob Smith (Jan Juc), Ben Considine (Barwon Heads), John Lane (Jan Juc) along with a host of former state champions.
Official Forecast Partner Coastalwatch is calling for moderate southwest winds on Saturday before shifting offshore for finals day on Sunday with a mix of mid-sized swells across the weekend.
The event will kick off on Saturday morning at Point Impossible at 7:30am. Competitors in the first heat are requested to check in at 7:15am.
