Seven Day Surf Trip on the line at the final round of Victorian Open Series
Bells Beach, VIC/AUS (Friday, 6th October 2017): The final round of the Victorian Open Series presented by HIF will see the top Victorian surfers battle it out at Jan Juc this weekend, for a chance to win a seven-day surf trip to the Maldives.
After the original date was postponed due to lack of surf, the Men’s division is an open field with up to eleven surfers in the running to be crowned champion.
The current top four surfers on the ratings, Caiden Fowler (Mt Eliza), Todd Rosewall (Jan Juc), Cahill Bell-Warren (Bells Beach) and Harry Mann (Torquay) all currently hold either first or second points and will go into the final event with the distinct advantage.
If any of the above surfers claim a victory in the final round, they will walk away as the champion. For the remaining surfers, they will also need to win the final round and hope that the above surfers are eliminated from competition in the first rounds.
In the Women’s sided of the draw, there are only 3 surfers who can walk away with the grand prize.
Bella Wilson (Jan Juc) is leading the charge on the ratings with an event win and a runner up. She is being chased by Daisy Corbett (Phillip Island) and Sophie Fletcher (Phillip Island) who both require event wins to claim the top prize.
The overall 2017 champion in both Open Men and Women will win a spot on a 7-day surf sojourn in the Maldives valued at $1310 each, thanks to the Perfect Wave Travel Co.
Full schedule and heat draw will be posted on Thursday at www.surfingvic.com
The Victorian Open Series is presented by HIF Australia and supported by The Perfect Wave, Coastalwatch, Surfing World Magazine, Corangamite CMA, Rocktape, Cancer Council Sunscreen and Surfing Victoria.
