State Championship Titles will be up for grabs when the second event of the Health Insurance Fund of Australia (HIF) WA Longboard Titles presented by SunSmart kicks off in Denmark on WA's south coast in the coming days.

Some of WA's best longboarders are preparing to head south to the secluded and picturesque beaches of Denmark this weekend, with clean autumn conditions forecast for close to 70 competitors who will converge from across the state.

The two event will be an exhibition of surfings great diversity and inclusion, with divisions ranging in age from Under-18 Juniors through Over-70 Legends. A true festival style atmosphere is set to ensue this weekend, with an exciting mix surfing buddies, families, and supporters to converge on Denmark from everywhere between Geraldton and Esperance. 

Ocean Beach and Parry's Beach will be the prime event locations for the weekend, with both beaches handling a variety of different conditions and providing ideal longboarding waves.
"Denmark is genuine surf territory, boasting amazing scenery and a variety of great locations," said Surfing WA Events Manager Justin Majeks. "This event will decide our State Champions for 2018 and the team that will go onto represent WA at this years Australian Surf Festival."

After an exciting start to the series in Yallingup back in February, this will be an exciting finish to the HIF WA Longboard Titles for 2018 with some great talent headlining the blue ribbon divisions including current Open Men's ratings leader Jack Medland (Dunsborough), multiple women's State and National champion Georgia Young (Swanbourne), as well as Scott Trew (Gabbadah), Mark Matisons (Cottesloe) and Ryan Clark (Dunsborough) who will all be out to capture victory in their respective divisions.

Mike Neunuebel (Denmark), Tony Harrison (Albany), Laura McEwan (Denmark) and Keith Lingard (Denmark) are amongst the many local surfers set to compete on home soil this weekend.

Competition will commence in Denmark at 8:00am on Friday, with finals set to take place on Saturday and Sunday.
