TAJ'S SMALL FRIES RETURNS TO YALLINGUP WESTERN AUSTRALIA FOR THE 14TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Taj's Small Fries presented by Flight Centre & City of Busselton will commence next week with over 100 of the country’s most talented junior surfers flocking to Taj Burrow's hometown of Yallingup, chasing one of Australia's the most coveted junior surfing crowns.

2019 marks the 14th consecutive year of Taj's Small Fries, with three-days of non-stop stoke forecast for Western Australia’s biggest and most prestigious junior surfing tournament.

After an amazing international career spanning almost two decades, Burrow is super excited to see Australia's next generation tackle the very waves he grew up surfing as a grommet.

“Each year I look forward to seeing who's been ripping and what talent Australia is producing,” said Burrow. “I get really excited when Billabong bring over kids who have never been to the South-West before, it's really fun showing them around my home breaks and spots they may have seen in the movies. I'm really looking forward to hosting a bunch of little maniacs for the 14th year, which is just incredible!”

Launching Surfing WA's extensive competition schedule for 2019, Taj's Small Fries is the official season opener for boys and girls competing in 10 and Under through to 16 and Under divisions.

This year will be no different, with a surfers converging from right across WA, as well New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. Once again there will be an international flavour to this years Small Fries with surfers travelling from as far away as Indonesia to compete.

“We’re exceptionally proud of our surfing heritage and culture here in the South-West,” said City of Busselton Mayor Grant Henley. “Taj Burrow's Small Fries is a signature junior event integral in developing young talent and enabling local kids to mix it with some of the best young champions in what can only be described as a world-class surfing arena. Held at the City’s iconic Yallingup beach, we are proud to again be sponsoring the event and I wish everyone involved the very best.”
